Building a restaurant brand identity for an iconic location
Siblings restaurant is a fine dining experience, serving modern Australian cuisine in Kirra, on the Gold Coast. Aside from the high quality food on offer, the location is a key selling point and helps create a memorable experience for customers. Situated on the beachfront, Siblings occupies an iconic and heritage listed building well known to locals, the Kirra Beach Pavillion.
Siblings approached Kaliber to create their new brand identity, looking for designs that would pay homage to the history of the location, architecture of the building, and nostalgic beach culture. We chose to stand out from the interior using contrasting materials and textures, whilst being complementary to the overall ambience.
The logo design plays on the strengths of the location, with the beachfront position and historical site being identifiable features. Using clean line-work and typography, the logo is a modern take on mid-century influences, and sits well within the brand identity. The logo itself adopts a responsive design, being simplified at smaller scales and more detailed in larger form to suit various design applications.
Patterns and textures used throughout the designs are coastal and retro-inspired, and paired with the brand colour palette create a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The visual identity is a classic design style with a contemporary edge – a perfect match for both the dining experience customers can expect, and the interior design fit out of the restaurant.
