A real brand for ‘reel people’ in fishing and e-commerce
Kaliber Studio recently collaborated with Direct Fishing & Outdoors (DFO) to create their branding, visual identity, and e-commerce website. The objective was to create a brand that reflected DFO’s expertise in the fishing industry, while also providing an intuitive and user-friendly e-commerce experience for their customers.
We began with the brand discovery process to understand all aspects of DFO, before reviewing competitors and defining a clear brand direction. Armed with this research we moved to the design stage and created a brand identity with a sense of adventure, a hint of nostalgia, and a bit of fun – all whilst allowing the brand’s imagery and content to come to the forefront and demonstrate DFO’s knowledge and expertise.





The brand was also applied across packaging design, with multiple options for a subscription box available. A large focus of our brand projects is ensuring both consistency and flexibility across various media. The multiple design elements and patterns created for the brand allow the packaging to have a bold and striking appearance, whilst still adhering to the brand identity.






The e-commerce design focused on UI/UX and Conversion Optimisation. Our goal was to create a user-friendly website that would make it easy for customers to navigate and complete their purchases.
The site was built within Neto (Maropost), a platform that incorporates the website, inventory management, customer database, and shipping all within one interface. Making it easy for the DFO team to manage their entire e-commerce operation, from inventory to shipping.


To further enhance the user experience, our team developed a unique custom feature that filters products based on both fish type and location. This allows customers to quickly find the perfect set of products that match their exact needs, making the shopping experience more personalised and enjoyable.
